Mian Ras - Hamrsgah Competition
Tehran Platform X Metamorphosis Method
In Tehran, urban space can only be imagined in the ground-level plane. In fact, urban space is adapted to a horizontal plane. A simple x and y plan. In this perceptual way, the sections of buildings are perceived much larger than the plans of the same buildings. In fact, in Tehran today, urban space is a horizontal dimension that has been simply transformed by vertical sections. But in fact, the vertical axis is of equal or even slightly more importance than the horizontal axis. In this project, this dimension is reinforced by a wide range of spatial arrangements at different levels and heights. The terraces above and the plaza below the metro space at the negative level create a new urban experience simultaneously and on one level. In this project, the experience of parallax – a change in the levels defining the space (due to a change in the viewer’s position) – occurs when the axes of movement leave the horizontal dimension. The vertical or diagonal directions of movement in urban space make its biological and perceptual experience different. The spatial definition in this project is regulated by the visual perception of the citizen (user). In fact, the spatial definition of this project is intertwined in a network of vertical movement, parallax, and light.
